Welcome!#

We are an educational hub focusing on mathematics and physics, with a team of young and enthusiastic professionals who strive to do more than teaching.

Why Study With Us?#

Our firm conviction is that mathematics means much more than formulas and theorems which students memorize, computations that span pages and pages or exercises which follow boring and predictable patterns, but which you have to solve to prepare for your exams.

We believe that scientific and mathematical education has a distinct role, more so during the present times, when artificial intelligence seems to be capable of replacing you in anything.

Our experience showed that school often fails to deliver on its promises or when it does deliver, sometimes it’s not more than what you need for good grades, but lacking actual knowledge and understanding.

If you trust Einstein, you should remember him saying that education is what you’re left with after you have forgotten everything you learned in school. Therefore, self-study, applications, and the (hi)story of scientific discoveries weigh more than a list of exercises you must crunch before your quiz.

Our preoccupation for communication and collaboration between disciplines motivates us to discuss with specialists from various domains in the pursuit of continuous improvement.

Studying with us means a friendlier and more diverse approach that most schools or private tutors offer. Our teachers are experienced both in academical excellence, and in teaching, so we all know that it is equally important to know a theorem, but also to be able to explain it.

We are passionate, enthusiastic, patient, and caring enough to discuss and explain everything that’s not clear such that abstract concepts become familiar. We’re not saying it’s frictionless or easy, but the required effort ensures that your learning journey is adequate, natural, and, ultimately, pleasant.

We firmly believe that extremism, disinformation, misinformation, conspiracies and other truth- or information-related problems that are on the rise in many countries, including our own, can and must be countered with careful and good quality education. When a teacher gets involved not only for sharing their knowledge, but also through enthusiasm, simple and friendly communication, the students or the audience see and feel the learning experience as a personal journey leading to their healthy development.

Modern Methods and Tools#

Our teaching resources always contain notes and remarks on the history and philosophy of science, applications of mathematics in natural science or technology. Technically, they are written and typeset carefully such that they are not just another page in your manual.

Education must first and foremost be accessible, so all our lessons, courses, and workshops involve free and open source tools, such that students or teachers who partake are not forced into buying books, subscriptions, or other digital or physical items.

For this, we are working on a course where we show how easy it is to install educational and productivity software which are free and open source, built with ethical responsibility, so you can avoid predatory data collection tools or bundled AI bloat. They are all available on Windows and macOS, but our course will chiefly be an argument for using Linux.

Curious?#

  • Visit our page on private tutoring if your priority is to improve your grades or exam performance. We work one-on-one or in very small groups (not more than 5 students at once, but only after we’ve established that the participants are at a similar level and can collaborate easily). Our teachers are specialized for mathematics and physics lessons, for all levels: K-12 or even college.

  • If you want to build together a custom course which matches your curiosity, look through our portfolio.

  • Browse our educational resources and download the worksheets or lecture notes if you want to learn on your own.

  • Stay in the loop with our events, courses, talks, and workshop or read a summary of the previous ones, all listed in the news and updates section.

  • Read popular science and science education articles we publish in The Gradient. Make sure you subscribe to the newsletter to have them delivered to your inbox.

  • Ask us anything or send us your thoughts via email or WhatsApp using the contact section.

Notice#

Since we are based in Romania, much of our activity involves working with local students, teachers, and publications. As such, the Romanian version of the website is richer than the English one. But we are working hard for reaching content parity as soon as possible.
